The current version of the Street Regulations says that a vertical or rolled curb can be used on streets with a "Local" classification in the City of Kingman. This has led to some inconsistency with regard to street improvements related to commercial projects. For commercial projects that require street improvements, it is the position of the Engineering Department that vertical curbs should be used. This encourages proper channelization of traffic into the parking area and discourages vehicles from driving across landscaping and other areas not designated for traffic. The ordinance allows for some exceptions, which must be approved by the City Engineer. Staff recommends approval.
The current version of the Street Regulations prohibits vacation of public rights-of-way or right-of-way easements that contain public utilities and other features like canals and ditches.
